    Dear Geeks!
I've found an app titled installmonitizer in ZA which is associated with the .exe file of the subject line in my local settings. I cannot find anything about this little itch. Should I scratch it? Do I smell malware? Benign? Or did I miss some glaring detail?

I'm not having any problems, aside from issues of paranoia or intuition having an argument and nobody knows the difference. Leave bad enough alone (the debbile we knows!) or should I just step in it?
I know if I'm in trouble I came to the right place - majorgeeks!

Thank you for your time. When I posted this thread earlier ZA directed me to the _local settings\temp\directory which -at that time- contained a directory or two and some unknown files, none of which appear now, and none named anything like the path dir's or .exe above- although the entry in ZA still shows directories. I've blocked it in ZA. It doesn't show in my installed files either.

I searched it and didn't get the link you found, but there were a couple of sites in english which serve "marketing research", if I'm right.

I've recently recovered my c drive and I've been trying to find a small video program for free which will play mp4's. A couple of them had unavoidable toolbars, and although I canceled them all at install, & as I'm reasonably sure that entry wasn't in ZA this time yesterday, Perhaps it piggy-backed in somehow that way. It certainly isn't an app I would welcome at first impression, needless to say.

And, thankfully, it's not causing any noticable problems, so perhaps more insight will follow with time. I'll root around otherwise. Something just doesn't seem very straight up about this little app or whatchamacallit.rolleyes

I appreciate your indulgence and time.

I will post what I find out or come back with more questions, that is if I'm not just firing off hijack logs by this time tomorrow. My fingers are crossed and I'm knocking on wood! Ouch!:-D

Thank you, of course I will follow the guidelines of your Malware removal program. Perhaps I was more jocular before than is appropriate for a novice. The .exe file seems to be tied to the ask toolbar installer which was supposed to be canceled at the install, so I will thank you for your time and pursue other options.
