The more and more we use robotics the more we will see some small % of these accidents. Future possibilities and "potential accidents" are when we use robots in the home, as in robots we see in films take iRobot for example.

I drive a Tesla, the consequences of bad programming could be immense. But I watch closely and monitor and believe I am helping the future. We are not victims, robots are still in their infancy and we need to embrace, develop, oversee them.

Yep. Visions of Skynet and Colossus went through my mind after reading this.

Yes, it is obvious that if it wasn't for the robot nothing bad would have happened at all...

    Not posting right...

Can't add this: I have eaten hamburgers with a higher IQ than the idiots who sit in air-conditioned boardrooms, drinking bottled water, and then puking such crap.

I agree. Sounds like that place was just primed for some kind of accident, robot or no.

Many moons ago I worked for a time at a paper mill as a maintenance tech. There were little or no industrial robotic tools in those far gone days . . . but when you get right down to it a robot is just a machine, albeit sometimes a mobile one. Whenever I had to go down in the bowels of this 120 yr old factory and rebuild one of the massive pumps or rewire a substation, I'd lock out the power for that entire section with a mechanic's lock that only I and the supervisor had the keys to. That way no one could turn the power back on while I was shoulder deep in a multi ton pump.

Sounds like there are multiple safety issues at this facility.
