Ron Paul, longtime Social Security opponent, acknowledges he receives SSA benefits

Ron Paul, who has long been a Social Security opponent, has acknowledged that he currently receives benefits. Paul has persistently claimed that Social Security is unconstitutional, and has advocated a slow end to the program, though he has said that he would not end it were he elected president. Instead, Paul has proposed that younger Americans should have the choice to opt out of a system that he described as "on its last legs" during a tea party debate in 2011.

Without starting a political firestorm here, I have to admit I like Ron Paul.

Unlike Romney and Obama, he speaks his mind. No sugar coated b**ls**t, no attempting to blow sunshine up people's a*ses.

As for Social Security, he paid into it for decades. How many of Bernie Madoff or R. Alan Stamford's victims said, "I feel bad getting money back from a Ponzi Scheme I invested in for 40+ years. I think the government should keep it"?
