    I am running Windows Sever 2003 advanced, I was hit with a malware that hijacked everything including my task manager, desktop, DNS entry, and all my google results link to a bad link.

    I have installed and ran serval anti-malware tools that have fixed everything but the Rootkit.Agent/Gen-Skynet. I ran SuperAntispyware and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware which both found the infected files ( \?\GLOBALROOT\C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SKYNETSAKEXYSJ.DLL ) and asked to reboot after the fix. After each reboot my system would crash right after I login while everything is loading with a IRQ_EQUAL_LESS_Than_0 and did a system dump. I would reboot 2 - 3 times before I would get back into windows.

    Once in windows I would redo the scan and the files would come up on the scan, so I finally did a reboot and remotely logged in for another computer and now SKYNETSAKEXYSJ.DLL does not show up in SuperAntispyware or Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but the files do show up when I do a scan with RootRepeal.

    I have also tried to run Combofix from my desktop and I get a Incompatible OS error. I also when ever I do a RootRepeal Scan I get an error ( Exception Code: 0xc0000005 ; Exception Address: 0x77e48d89 ; Attempt to read from address: 0x007f5c9c)

    Why am I not seeing any anti-virus software on this machine??

    Download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract+ avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop

    Please double-click the RootRepeal.exe previously downloaded.

    * Select File then Scan
    * On the Select Drives form select drive [ insert drive infected here ] by "ticking" the box for drive [insert drive here] and click OK
    * When the scan is complete - highlight each of the following file(s) (one at a time if more then one is listed) by left clicking it. Then use right mouse click and select the Wipe File option only for each file.
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\SKYNETdglhrvpk.sys
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ovfsthwowfuisksomksnpwfqrrimqedoqotncp.sys
    * After Wiping all files, immediately reboot your pc!

    After reboot, download/install/update and run the scanning tools you couldn't run!

    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * -Do not change any check box options!!
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:

    * Now click the Execute button.
    * Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    * Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    * Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

    Now clean out everything in this folder ( you can not remove items from todays date):
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\Avenger.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    I ran the avenger.exe by setting to run in 2000 compatibility mode since it will not run in 2K3.

    After the reboot, my system was no botting into windows just restarting itself when once it began loading windows. I did an F8 and loaded last good known configuration. Once I loged in I get a Cannot find CMD.EXE error which I assuming was avenger.exe trying to create the log file since there is not log file in my c:\ drive

    I have attached the MG logs.zip

    GMER's MBR.exe

    • Double click on the MBR.exe file to run it.
    • A log will be produced & saved to the desktop, called MBR.log.
    • Attach this log to your next message.

    Now delete the current mbr.log file and then run the below instructions.
    Click Start > Run and copy & paste the following text in the code box into the Run box and then click OK. You must copy and paste or type in this exactly. The quotes must be exactly as shown and there is a space before the -f
    Code:

         "%userprofile%\desktop\mbr.exe" -f

    Now double click on the mbr.exe file and attach the new mbr.log

    Now use windows explorer to find and delete:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\lowsec
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\15704064
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ovote.sys
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\azaazzaza.bmp
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\hjdfclvsyc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\iumllfdntn.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\izohore.bmp

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * Both MBR logs.
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    I have done a couple of scans since the last round of changes and my google is running fine, I had one instance of 19 the rootkit coming up in registry keys but superantispyware got rid of them and they have not come back.

    rootrepeal still shows one hidden service ovfsthwowfuisksomksnpwfqrrimqedoqotncp.sys , but when I do a wipe is says the file can not be found. A forced delete produces and error. I also tried to do a delete NT service with HiJackThis and it says the service in not in the registry.

    Other then that, its looking like my system is clean, but I will hold my breath till you finish looking at the latest round of logs.

    I am not seeing anything in your logs....so all you need to do is clean out this folder:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real-time protection. They are useful as backup scanners.They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
