Rootkit is destroying my memories!

I have uploaded alot of photos over the past couple of years onto my computer through my program HOT ALBUM MYBOX including birthdays,holidays,vacations,etc. A couple of months ago my ten year old made a major mistake and downloaded Internet Game Box which comes with a wonderful bonus...a rootkit. It corrupted several programs but most of those I had no problem with simply uninstalling and then reinstalling them. The HOT ALBUM one though is a problem because I don't want to lose all my pictures. Is there anything I can do to recover this program without having to uninstall it? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

Have you made a backup? Do this before you start uninstalling/reinstalling programs and removing rootkit/malware.

Image storage should normally be on the C: drive.

You can reimport images (page 26 of manual) or copy images to another location (page 39), or backup albums (page 98).

You shouldn't have a problem uninstalling/reinstalling that program as long as you don't allow the program to delete registered photos while uninstalling (page 18).
