I seem to be having some problems with my router, my laptop (despite it being brand new) can often see my router (but not all the time) but doesnt want to connect. I have tried the laptop elsewhere and it works perfectly. I have a BT Voyager 2091 and i was wondering whether this is perhaps a bit of old technology and that i should buy a new router and was wondering if they are better nowadays and will perhaps transmit a little further?
    Many thanks.

Is this an encrypted router? Have you set up the connection properly. i mean I have the same trouble witht he router phasing in and out, but thats distance for you. the conection thing when I get it is always becasue of a software flaw that has srewed with my connection profile, or I have forgotten my password. Also, I presume the SSID is your router, and there is not another one nearby.

I got an $30 or so Belkin Wireless G router that I have been very pleased with. I got mine at the local Home Depot. My range is around 80 yards. It has a decent interface, has a lot of options. I am not familiar with yours, but maybe it is time for a new one.

Make sure the laptop is not the problem before you bust off on a new router.
