routers

    i have a netgear rp614v2 and a 3 meg connection i go SOOOO slow w/ the router and fast w/o if i get a new router will my connection speed w/ the router be faster...at software plus i saw a netgear i think it was blue and black it was a 4 port router and switch for like 80-100...it was router and switch so does that mean sometiems i can have just one connection and sometimes i can have more?

    cat5e is right, your internet speeds should not be affected with using the router. Check all your settings and if everything looks to be ok and things are plugged in correctly then your router has problems. Take it back and get a linksys cable/dsl router for about 69 bucks, unless you want the wireless which would run you about 20 bucks more at walmart or best buy!
    Also check for a possible bad patch cable, usually when these go bad things just don't work but intermittent problems can occur with a bad cable.

    i did that stuff on the link...can ppl check that and make sure its right...can i like make the numbers bigger to go faster? i gota 3 meg connection

    Netgear has issues, I am not a big fan. Did you update the firmware first?
