Having removed sundry malware and an outdated Norton and cleaned an elderly Dell Tower I went to install AVG 7.5 free.

After th installation started I received a message Setup has detected that you have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5. This conflicts with AVG 7.5. There is an upgrade from Roxio to resolve this issue. (A weblink was supplied.)

Roxio wanted paying yes real money- for this upgrade.

So I cancelled out of AVG and installed AVAST. This latter installed without demur and seems to be functioning OK.

    Any comment? Chas?

Thank you for that useful information.

Your links actually worked, which is more than can be said for the link supplied on the AVG setup dialog box.
I found my way to the Roxio home page and navigated to suport and downloads from there. All I was offered was to 'upgrade to Easy CD C 9.0' for a fee of course. The Roxio home page did not lead to the page you linked to.

Anyway I have installed Avast now and all is well.
