RPC unexpectedly Termintes/Quicklaunch

2 Questions:

1- After working on the internet a while, I get a message that the RPC has terminated unexpectedly, then it gives me 60 seconds before it shuts down. I am unable to download long files.

2- I have 7 items on the quicklaunch toolbar, but when I open XP, it shows only 3 or 4, the rest I can access by moving the bar. Is there any way to extend this so that all items show?

 

2: Right click the task bar and uncheck "lock the taskbar". Now you can freely extend the area the quick launch consumes. Once you're done jsut relock it.

1: This is most likely caused by a virus, or damage left behind from a virus. I'd suggest you do a full virus scan, as well as an ad scan to try and clean it up. If it's only a recent issue, then you may want to simply use system restore to go back, and resolve it that way.
