Rtx2080 Fans Full, Shutdown

Hey guys, been a while since I needed your brains.

I have had an MSI Trio RTX2080 for 2 years.
Earlier this year I changed cases from Stormtrooper to a Cougar Panzer.

I have had problem the last 7 months or so where completely randomly the video feed to monitor will shut down and card fans ramp to 100%
Sound stays on and can click stuff.

It does not seem like a temp issue as it happens with temps of 40c.
It happens when gaming, when browsing and even when desktop idol.

It was plugged into pciex3 slot.
In June I dropped it into the x2 slot and it held stable for a while, then I decided to put it back, problem occured.
Then I put it back to the 2x slot and it now does it there too.

I switched the card out to an old gtx660 and it runs fine in both slots.

The rtx is heavy, it does not sit well in the mobo due to weight.

So to sum up.
No problems.
Changed case and probs start.
Random crashes at any temp and while gaming or idle.

One pcie slot did it, 1 didn't.
Now both do.
Smaller 660 card works fine.

I am leaning toward either damaged pcie slots from weight of card.
Or psu just not doing it anymore. As all other hardware is 4 years old.

Its not drivers as I have tried many different drivers and zero difference in results.

Sometimes it will crash 10 times in an hour, other times it will be days with no issues.

I can afford a new mobo or psu, not both.
Just looking for ideas.

Corsair 800w
16gb trident
Multiple hdd/ssds
Win 7 64

Lay your case flat. That will take the weight off the card. See what happens.
