Run 2 Windows versions at once

Hi, i need help I have tried to use my installation of IE8 to log into my payroll site and it wont let me do anything on there
this is what doesn't work right
the drop down menu you get when you click the down arrow next to the entry field(it works for the boss on his computer)

I have tried IE8 64bit (im on xp 64)
I have tried IE8 32bit
I have deleted cookies and temp files , I did not have java so i installed that
still nogo
now i am trying to find a virtual windows xp so i can use that to get on the virtual IE and make the needed changes

I downloaded the oracle VM Vitralbox and during set up i told it windows xp
and when I start the program and click to start the virtual xp installation it says Fatal: No bootable medium found. System halted

Can some one tell me what to do I have to log on to this payroll site

You have to install an OS in the virtual machine. So you need an operating system disk and key to install.
