"run" items being deleted

I've put a number of items in the Run box (for easy reference), but they have been erased.:confused

I do scans with MalwareBytes and Superantispyware - could this be the problem (although it wasn't in the past.)

Some "cleanup" utilities will remove everything from the RUN history.

If you use CCleaner, check the Windows tab under the Windows Explorer heading.
Uncheck Run (in Start Menu)

If you use any other cleanup utilities, look over the configuration options.

Also, Wise Disk Cleaner:
Traces In Computer > Windows system > Run in Start Menu

The 2 programs I use have never done this before, so I was surprised that it may have done it now.

I don't see any config option to prevent it

Also Wise disk cleaner, that you mentioned says it is a Registry cleaner and I never use those programs.

 

Found the problem.

I recently installed Spybot and there is a box to erase Run History.

Wise Registry Cleaner is a different program.

I was refering to Wise Disk Cleaner

There are some Start menu options that affect that. (Privacy settings)
You should give your OS (Windows) version information so people know what you are dealing with.

The programs you listed are Malware scanners and should not delete or remove Run command history.
I was referring to Disk or Drive cleaners.

Unfortunately, AFAIK there is no way to recover the deleted history.

You could keep a list of your most frequently used commands in a Text file.
Then you could just do a copy/paste individually if they get lost.

 

As I said, Spybot has an option to erase Run History, so this might help someone else.
