rundll as an app error

i have suddenly started getting the error "cannot run dll as an app" message when i try to change my desktop wallpaper. can anyone offer some advice. i've tried several bug detectors, run a virus scan, and spyware remover just to eliminate those possibilities, but still no luck. help please!!

Be sure to get all available updates for it and also choose custom scanning options when you run the scan.

OK. Did you get the updates for Ad-Aware?

I'm pretty sure this is caused by spyware. Try SpyBot (get the updates)
