I am getting a rundll error on start up "cannot find gzmrt.dll" and getting popups from adssite.
I have followed the "Read and Run me First" steps 1 and 2 but still having problems. When i ran the AVG anti spyware, no log was generated even though i am sure I followed the instructions as specified.

    Hi psycho noodlz!
    Welcome to Major Geeks!

If you use Firefox, yoiu can try this for the adssite problem. Another poster tried this and it worked. Before you start, please download and install Erunt. Use it to create a backup of your registry.

Next uninstall Firefox with add/remove programs and then delete the "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" directory. Leave the "C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\Application Data\Mozilla " directory in tact.

Then search and delete all instances of adssite in the registry with regedit. There should be three.

    After this reinstall Firefox.

See if you are still getting the adssite popups after this. Let me know your progress.

    Hi psycho noodlz

    Please do the following:

    1) Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [postSetupCheck] C:\WINDOWS\System32\Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\gzmrt.dll" DllStart

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    2) Next please copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    3) Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now

    Hi psycho_noodlz!

That looks better. If you're not having any further symptoms I want to post the final clean-up instructions to you. But first, let's get rid of your old javas and get you the newest one:

    1) Go to add/remove programs and uninstall the below:

    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5"
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6"
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9"
    Java(TM) 6 Update 2"
    Java(TM) 6 Update 3"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

    2) Reboot after uninstalling the above.

    2) Install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

I don't remember what your firewall/antispyware etc. is, so please do read the How to Protect Yourself from Malware. If you don't have Spyware Blaster, I recommend it.
