Hey Ive got some sort of virus and have been trying alot of different things to fix it..This site has helped me so far with reading other posts, but the issue im having is running ms dos prompt...I think maybe my pc was hijacked, when i go to run and type command to start the procedure a box comes up that says C:\WINDOWS\system32\command.com
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.

That is one problem... but im not sure if that is even an issue...My homepage always says about blank, and after I installed sbc online protection it always says a new program installed when ive already checked it off.. I seem to have gotten rid of the popups, but i still think there is some sort of virus or some1 is hacking into my system...if any1 knows anything about these issues or a good free anti virus program please reply thank you...

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

This is not a malware problem but there is something missing from your OS.
You did not indicate which OS you have so you will have to choose from the below.

For Windows XP Pro: download and run XPproFix
For Windows XP Home: download and run XPHomeFix
For Windows 2000: download and run: W2KFix

That should fix the above problem.

If you believe you have malware problems, please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
