Running of the Bulls - In Texas

Can't seem to find the time to get over to Spain? Have a death wish to be trampled by a few thousand pounds of beef? If you answered "yes" it's time to plan your trip to Houston this December:

Sounds exiting. The purpose of the running of the bulls is to drive them to their pens so that in the afternoon the bullfights can begin. In Pamplona, Spain that's about a week's event.

Will there be bullfights in Texas after the running of the bulls? Don't think so eh? I hope that no-one gets hurt.

Went to a bullfight in Madrid, Spain 48 years ago and felt sorry for the bulls, yet respect for the bullfighters. It was said at that time that the bulls would be slaughtered and the meat given to the poor.

 

I doubt they could even if they wanted to. PETA and the Humane Society are already up in arms about just the running part.

While I believe in animal rights, I think the bulls will hold the upper hand (hoof?) against the runners.
