Russia Situation

I think the situation has got a bit out of control.
Heres hopes it calms down!!:confused

*shrug* Leave 'em alone. They'll fight for a while and then come to a temporary treaty that won't last a week. War is human nature, and there's nothing that can be done to change that.

 

Since the breakup of the communist block Russia has been trying to re-assert its influence on the Balkan states without success and now they have seen how the rest of Europe lives it's increasingly more difficult, so now it seems that the old way of brute force has come into play.

You all seem to be missing the point. The Georgians were involved in so-called 'ethnic Cleansing', and killing Russian Peacekeepers. Killing of Russian citizens tends to make them majorly ticked off, so not surprising that Ossetia and other places are getting militarily pummelled.

As far as being serious, at last count, there was over 2,000 dead. So yes, I'd say it's pretty serious.
