    Hi, a link that I followed asked me to download some codec in order to watch a movie, which I denied several times, but I believe that through not reading the windows carefully installed itself anyway. Since then I have been receiving multiple in Internet Explorer, all for a website called cookingluck.com, and often followed by a prefix of s3, f7, f11, etc. I use firefox, and never touch internet explorer. They come anyway. I installed Avira AntiVir, and it identified a few viruses I had and deleted them. However, often it will find a virus called TR.Dldr.CookHom.Gen or something very similar (I forgot the exact name to be honest). No matter what I do, this file will always return and get the program stuck in a loop of sorts in that it will always ask what to do with this file. Other files it finds it claims are locked even though I am a computer administrator. It claims I have to reboot the computer in order to delete these. Can somebody please get me some help? Oh yes, when I first noticed the virus it would block access to my task manager. I downloaded a program that rectified this, but the internet explorer pop-ups remain.

    I have completed all of the checks. I would like to inform that when I attempted to uninstall java before I did any of these checks that two old versions of java did not have the option to uninstall in the add/remove programs location. I do not know if they are still there. The pop-ups have stopped, but I have been restarting my computer often with all of these programs when they asked me to. Logs are attached.

    When you run the MGTools.exe...you will be prompted to agree to the HJT license, you need to agree to it, and then let the whole program/scan run. It will tell you when it is finished. You only produced one log in the zip file.

    However, we can do some cleaning:
    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Do not change any check box options!!
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:

    * Now click the Execute button.
    * Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    * Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    * Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.
