Sad News

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community.

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection, and complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, who has a bun in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Betty Crocker, The Hostess Twinkies and Captain Crunch. The gravesite was piled high with flours. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy, and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded.

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart "cookie", wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still, as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

I have to say that copying word for word an article written by someone else and making it appear as if the words are your own is stupid.

And then later you try to claim that you "borrowed" it when WobblesRArt asked if you stole it. Nice one there. Very clever.

Would you have ever mentioned that you didn't write it if someone hadn't brought the subject up? I doubt that very much.

If you weren't trying to steal it, you would have mentioned that the content wasn't your own when you first posted it.

But you didn't, and the only words I can use to describe how lame you are aren't allowed on this forum.

And what makes it even worse is that it wasn't even the least bit funny or entertaining.

 

It is quite obvious without even looking at your post count that you are a new member here.

First, personal attacks on members are not allowed here so back off!

Second, Uncle Bob never at at any time said these were his own words and copy/pasting a joke into a thread 'is' acceptable...FYI, this particular one has been circulating via email for years...Uncle Bob did not steal anything.

Third, Nobody cares if you found it funny or not. The great thing about message boards is that you will find all kinds of people with varying personalities so what might be funny to one will not be to another...kinda like real life eh? Go figure .

If you don't find it funny don't reply and move on to another thread. Don't make accusations and cut down members here. This type of behavior may be permitted on other forums but it will never be tolerated here. Understood?

 

Yeah, I saw that unwarranted attack, before, but left it alone.

I do the same myself Halo, copied and pasted many a joke. Who says it has to be an original.

I kinda liked it, anyway. it reminded me of that "Who's afraid of the Doughboy?" campaign that went on between companies years ago.

 

Note to self. A disclaimer may be a good idea when posting humor found at other sites.

One idiot that obviously joined just to be anal (I assume this, as that was his first post), doesn't count. Just ignore such blemishes, as Chris said, and they'll go away.

I haven't been folllowing this thread (though enjoyed the original posting by Uncle Bob) so I thought Star was referring to Uncle Bob in the above.....was trying to figure what was so bad about having an IQ of 1186 *grins*

 

First of all, it wasn't just a simple joke that was copied. It was an entire ARTICLE. And I don't care if anyone wants to copy/paste humor from other sites. I was just pointing out that when something IS copied/pasted, you should mention so. Otherwise it REALLY looks like you're trying to steal it.

Secondly, I wasn't even that harsh. I said what he did was stupid and then I called him lame. OH NO! I AM TRULY THE MEANEST PERSON ON THE INTERNET! Grow up, people.

Thirdly, two other people in this thread have called me an idiot. I don't care and am not bothered by that in the slightest, but doesn't that go AGAINST YOUR OWN FORUM RULES? I was told by an admin that personal attacks are not allowed here. Or perhaps I was mistaken? If that is the case I would be free to insult each of you and post messages in which I claim to have had intercourse with your mothers. And also your mothers are fat. HA!

And lastly, that wasn't my first post at this forum.
