    Hi,

Thanks in advance for the assistance. Here is the situation.

I am having major issues with my laptop lately. In the last few weeks I have had some episodes where I cant do anything once I boot. I also think I may have picked up the "about:blank" virus, but thought i got ride of it w. macfee. That said, I get the windows XP home page but the system never really boots up instead i get an hourglass. Sometime I can launch ie or google chrome, but more often than not it would crash. If I reboot several times things tended to work out eventually. As of the last couple of days however things have really deteriorated. Now I can do nothing outside of safe mode. Again, I can boot up and get to the home page but after that i crash no matter what i try. Safe mode still works (i am in it now).

If it matters I have been working with itunes and my music folders lately. Updated itunes and have been managing music on a separate harddrive connected to this pc.

I have followed all the instructions that i found for cleaning malware. I could not launch superantispyware as i am in safe mode and couldnt get it to launch (in any profile admin or my personal profile).

any help would be soooo appreciated. i have attached my logs from the other three programs.

    Thanks alot

    josh

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

My first impression is that your problems are not due to malware. I suggest that the first thing you try is to do a System Restore back to a point in time before you started having problems and see if that works.

    Questions.
    1. What exactly have you been doing with RegCure and Registrar Registry Manager? I recommend staying away from registry cleaners since they can frequently cause more problems than they cure.
    2. I see VCOM SystemSuite Professional installed. Doesn't this also include an antivirus? Does it include a firewall too?
    3. If you answered yes to either question in # 2 above, then why is this installed when you have McAfee or why is McAfee installed when you have VCOM?
