Hi guys, quick question (I hope). When I reboot and hit F8 to go into safe mode a boot list pops up showing floppy, HDD..... and when I select the HDD with the OS on it it just boots normally and not in safe mode. Any ideas?
    Thanks

You didn't mention your OS, but you can find directions on this Symantec site. If it asks you about a floppy, by chance do you have a floppy in your machine when you started the boot sequence?

After you choose the hd hit F8 again and see if the option to choose safe mode comes up. I've had the same issue before.

    Hi Tater
Some motherboards have a bios that uses the <F8> key to boot-order-switch. Dawnpatrol has the idea - just keep hitting <F8> 'til it obeys. :)

If the double-<F8> thing does not work you can also try hitting "F5". On most systems this will open an O/S choices screen. Hitting F8 on this screen will open up the advanced options menu with safe mode, etc. :)

Thanks guys (it's an Asus by the way). I'll try those suggestions and post back. Thanks again.
