If you are using a modem then Safe Mode with Network won't work, as modem are not supported. If are using broadband then something is blocking your internet access, run the scans in normal mode, and report that you weren't able to run the scans in Safe Mode but could run them in normal mode.

Network Safe Mode is for limited debugging of the LAN, and not a fully functional Networking setting that does every thing that regular mode does.

Still syrk, should be able to access the Internet and run the requested scans from Safe Mode With Networking; if not then there is something blocking Internet Access.

There is a very good chance you still have a Malware infection of sone kind on your system. Go back to Spyware. Do the Scans in normal mode, and be sure to tell us that you did that, and what the scans found.

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans? Were you unable to download any of the tools? Did you do the on-line scans as suggested?

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Don't mean to step on toes spd, or get in the way, but:

If the connection is software PPPoE DSL, it will not work in SafeMode w/ Networking, as the wan miniport drivers XP uses are not available save in normal mode.

Any other wired lan connection that doesnt require software authentication should work fine.

Good point. I didn't look at his HJT log from his previous thread; wan miniport is loaded in normal mode.
