Safe Surfing Question

Hey all, what's up. Months ago my computer got thrashed and I came here for help. I now run AdAware, Spybot, Spyware Blaster & Win Defender and haven't had a problem since. Thanks for all the advice & help!!!

Moving on....

If I'm logged into my yahoo email account and then go surfing around from the same window, is there any way for malware to trace back to my open and logged in email account? Should I just always log out to be safe

Also, in the How To sticky here it advises to always have a password protected windows account. Is this to prevent others from messing around or does it make it harder for malware?

It is advisable to always logout of secure accounts before doing any other browsing or linking in those Windows. In fact to be really safe, I recommend login out and then actually closing down that browser session.

It is for both reasons! Any account that has no password provides a doorway for malware and hackers to enter you PC and take control. The Administrator account (only seen after booting in safe mode) has no password by default. Hackers and creators of malware know this and use it to their advantage.
