Safe Web Cam Site

Hello All,

My wife and I are looking at getting online with some of our family members across the country (CANADA). Would any of you out there be able to offer any safe and reliable Web Cam Sites for us to use? A friend at work suggested Skype. I thought this was a phone site. Can anyone give it a personal review?

Are there big differences in Web Cams or is everything pretty standard?

Because we are new to this any insite and additional information would be great.

I use Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger to webcam with my family in the UK. It works just great.

 

I use MSN Messenger for the webcam stuff. love it. Going to try out Skype though, when my boyfriend leaves for Korea (he's being stationed there). I've heard great things about Skype....voices are clear, webcam is clear...

I tried Skype and have found it great. The audio is crystal clear, however we have not tried a web cam since we are not sure which would be a good one to buy.

I recently bought a cheap one from Argos, as a backup really, and have found it to work perfectly.
I have also used really expensive ones but not noticed much difference between my cheap one and expensive ones.
