safetydefender removal help

    I followed the directions in the Spyware Quake removal and the listed .dll files are not in my system32 folder. The only big problem is that everytime I open my browser (IE-6 SP1) my home page action is canceled and it opens safetydefender, and I can't change it. I even went through the show hidden files for windows 2000 SP4.

    You did not follow the procedure. The procedure instructs you to attach the smitfiles.txt log. Please attach it.

    Well upon restart of the computer and I tried opening the browser,which showed me that safetydefender is now gone. The funny thing is too is that I could not locate the smitfiles.txt.

    Normally it is in the root of your boot drive. Like C:\smitfiles.txt
