Same PC-One user can access internet but other can't

I am trying to work on a friend’s computer and thus am not familiar with everything on it. This computer is an HP Pavilion 511 running WIN-XP-Home sp3 with two authorized users, guest access is turned off. I have the computer plugged into a Linksys WRT54G router (use on my home system – know it works).

Booting in Safe mode the Administrator can access the internet and router main page, but the other user cannot access either, error message is “Page Can't be Displayed". Windows Firewall settings appear to be the same for both users. I created a new user and it was able to access the internet.

Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.

 

did you go into device manager when logged into the user accounts that do not have internet access and make sure the network adapter is not disabled? did you try running malwarebytes to check for any spyware?
