It's already sold out online for shipping. :(

If you plan on trying to get one at a local Fry's, order it online for in-store pickup and wait for the confirmation e-mail (usually about 20 minutes). I used to work there - they are notorious for showing the item being available at a specific location when, in reality, it's already sold out. Ordering the in-store pickup online usually guarantees they'll set one aside so it will be there when you show up. Bring your confirmation e-mail with you; you'll need it to pick up the order.

When I saw an ad this morning for a different SSD (250gb - $159) it was already sold out before the store opened.

    Are the employees buying them?:-D

Although Fry's (and many other retailers) have a policy against employees buying items for immediate resale on eBay, it's almost impossible to enforce. As a result, the answer is often "yes." Also, remember that many of the employees are geeks themselves and may want one for personal use.

This was also marked as a "limited quantity item," meaning it's either a closeout or a one-time buy.

No worries about posting it. Hot deals like this usually sell out on Fry's website within a few hours.

Just checked again and there are some stores that show availability.

Can't send the link, doesn't seem to work, but checkout does work.

    Maybe some people might benefit.

    Houston store shows available.

    Thanks.

Since I'm not doing any gaming or system builds right now, I'm going to hold off. Hopefully the pricing on SSDs in general will continue to drop, just as big screen TVs did over the past few years. My guess is we'll see 120GB SSDs as low as $60 by Black Friday.
