Samsung LCD Monitor

I'm working on setting up a system for our office at County Parks Emergency Medical Services, which means I got some surplus from the county to work with (that means, no support from IT really)

The monitor is a Samsung LCD monitor, Model 204B A and this is where the problem lies. I have hooked it into my system (plugged into a RIVA TNT PCI card... yeah my systems a little outdated, but it works) and it will not stay on. It will flicker and then go black. Sometimes it will stay on for a few seconds, somtimes it will stay on for 5 or 10 minutes. When it goes black, I can not even access the OSM or anything. Turning it off and on again with the front power button will sometimes do the trick, but I ususally have to flick the main power switch next to the power cord to 'reset' it.

Anyone have any thoughts/ideas what the problem is? I admit I have no clue whatsoever and am trying to save this thing because it would be a lot nicer on our desk there than a CRT (space issues)

    Thanks

Not sure if this would have much to do with it but what are your gfx cards specs? Also what size is the monitor; could you give me some of the monitors other specs as well?

Can you try the monitor on another computer?
