Sandboxie Pro Is Now Free

Noticed a thread on another site recently that Sandboxie Pro is now free. Here is the article:

Sophos owns the software and plans to push it to open source. I think it's a good way to keep the software updated on the development end, and I am hoping it works. In the meantime, sandboxie is a great security booster for anyone who would like to secure their PC with a single a-v...and it's 100% free. Should be able to come up with some uses for s-boxie...

Yes, Eldon (or should I say well done...), and it's on a lifetime subscription now lol. I didn't expect this one, but I'm happy to see such a decision from Sophos...

Don't know if I have the guts to test malware in Sandboxie for now, but theoretically it should be safe. Need to learn the ropes first.

DX, will your fork run on W7? Curious where your fork has gone that the original did not.

As I recall, s-boxie is quite an intricate program. Wondering if there is a good bit of evidence in the o-s code of accommodations in the program for compatibility sake or the like to such. I recall along the way of s-b dev work reading a good bit about small nit picky but aggravating incompatibilities with the program and then about associated developmental difficulties.

 

Yes the fork is w7 compatible although I haven't tested every build explicitly.

Yes there are a lot of special cases for ie, chrome and alike.
