I put together a PC a couple of years ago with an IDE hard drive I had. I loaded XP on the PC.

I want to add another HD and noticed my MB supports SATA drives. Can I mix the two types of HD's?

Should I put the OS on the SATA drive I would buy?

Yes you can mix hard drives.

If the SATA drive is faster (higher RPM) and more cache then it may be worth moving your OS to the SATA drive.
