I have Windows 7 on a SATA drive (Drive C). For some reason it won't recognise IExplorer and therefore I can't get the internet on that drive. I installed another drive with Vista which allows me to get the internet (Drive E). I now want to install Vista on the SATA drive but keep getting the error message "system partition is not allowed to be formatted" when I try to reformat the SATA. Can anyone give me advice???

If you are trying to format from the management console, thatmight happen, as the @C' drive is your main op as far as windows is concerned.
If you insert your Vista disc, and choose the 'C' drive, you can re-install from there.
Have you tried -click all programs, accessories, and look for the 'run' - click on it and type in sfc /scannow, to see if it is a missing file on the original installation ?

Have you tried another browser on the SATA drive?
    Opera?
    Firefox?

Thanks for the rapid response to my query.

I've managed to get Windows 7 reloaded onto the SATA and it can bloody well stay there until hell freezes over!!! :wave:wave:wave
