I have a problem, living so far out in the country.. not much of a internet ..:(
I can get satellite but it has a latency problem.. I play music in chat rooms at yahoo, so it is a real problem , with latency.. is there a way or a program, that can get past this latecy problem? I would love to have something other than dial up.. but this latencey problem, messes me up.:(.. so I still have dial up and have problems of being disconnected alll the time..:(

Satellite Internet is by far better than dial-up, but as you stated the latencey does cause many problems. Having used both HughesNet and Wild Blue, I myself would rather have Wild Blue. I was on satelite for about 5 years until DSL finally came into my area in April. My pings on satelite were very bad, and there are some things that are just not possible with satelite. There's not alot of tweaks that help either, but it does beat the heck out of dial-up for cruising the net. You might check out some of the forums over here for more info, these folks are a great help: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/wildblue
Hope they can give you all the info you need.

Thank you, I will check out the sites.. I have satellite tv and it is great! I keep hoping they will come up with a way to make satellite internet do voice better. It is almost a way of life for some people who use voice-over-internet a lot rather than a phone. Hopefully they are working on this at Wildblue and Hughesnet. I tried Wildblue where I used to live, it was great as far as speed...voice latency was the only problem there was. It did alright on paltalk, but at yahoo chat, sound was a mess...the sound kept breaking up if music was playing.
Maybe they will come up with something in the future that will fix the latency problem...I've been told that it just needs a program to have clear sound.
Thanks to you all for the replies..:)
