save OE .dbx files to windows explorer

A few months ago I found a way to move files from OE to corresponding files in Windows explorer. Then, I forgot how to do it. Any ideas?

 

For xp
C:\Documents and Settings\user namel\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{XXXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXX}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
For 98
c:windows\local settings\Application Data\Identities\{XXXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXX}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

 

This may seem weird but I dont have a /Local Settings file in Docs and Settings in /All Users nor /Jim Bibb so can't go any further. I searched C: , too. Nada.

You have to enable hidden files and folders in control panel>folder option>view.

 

Done. Thanks. But after Identities/xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxx the message reads: Folder is empty.

Do you have anything inside your outlook express?
Also there may be other {XXXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXX} in the identities folder.

 

I rebooted the computer (for other reasons), then Local Setting/Application Data/Identites/xxxx...-xxxxx/Microsoft/Outloook Express and the Files appeared. I cut and pasted a file of emails to a Project Folder on C:, it worked fine! Then, to see if it would work again, closed Docs and Settings, reopened went back to /Identities to find that it contains only

C:\Documents and Settings\JIM BIBB\Application Data\Identities\{7C7B693C-AECC-4F47-ADFA-CE547DBA1842}

And: C:\Documents and Settings\JIM BIBB\Application Data\Identities\{223252F8-514A-47EF-B4EA-78E9B027828D}

but no /Microsoft/Outloook Express and the Files !! Where did they go?
I have looked in All Users, Default User & JIM BIBB.
Multiple attempts to repeat my earlier success have been to no avail.
Too weird.
