Say G'bye to MSNBC - Microsoft and NBC Complete Web Divorce

On Sunday night, MSNBC.com did something that successful Web sites almost never do: it renamed itself. After MSNBC.com is renamed, “we will fully own our digital businesses,” said Steve Capus, the president of NBC News. MSNBC.com and its associated sites record 50 million unique visitors a month in the United States, according to comScore. I know what you mean… Watching that network is about as much fun as driving towards a midwestern tornado! ;)

Speaking of 'Not Ready for Primetime' network players; Oprah has lost truckloads of money on her fledgling cable network venture. I was reading recently that OWN; which Oprah is the CEO of, is actually a 'joint venture' with both Discovery Communications and Harpo Productions, and it has attracted only around 300,00 viewers in prime time, which is significantly below the up to 6 million or so viewers per day who used to regularly watched her 'Oprah Winfrey' daytime talk show. Talk about 'yer Money Pits! <lol>
