Hi! This might be wrong the forum for this question, sorry if it is, but it seems more spyware/malware related than software related to me. I was downloading the SC-Keylog from this site (cause my nephew is up to no good on my pc I think) and AVG reported several Trojan Horses, 3 in total I think, 2 of them are PSW.Sclog.D and PSW.SClog.E, and I didn't catch the third. Maybe the nature of the software is such that this will happen, I dunno. But I guess I just need to know whether the program is safe to use...Thanks!

I would say it does just as good as any other antivirus program, after all it did detect those infections :p . There isnt any one program that catches EVERYTHING.

As an alternative, you could run TrendMicro's Online Virus Scan to clean those infections.

Thanks for your reply bjgarrick, sheesh you guys are fast, so the keylogger is not usable then I guess huh? I tried healing them and it did, but then when I used it it wouldn't install cause a needed file was missing. Thanks for your info though, I'll do the scan at trend micro too, you might want to have the program removed from your download section if it is all fulla bad stuff. Thanks again!

Oh wait! I think I'm being totally unclear again and I apologize. What I mean is I'm totally happy with AVG, I'm just wondering if the program I downloaded from Major Geeks is supposed to have Trojans in it because its a keylogger or if it really does have malware in it. In this case I actually want a keylogger on my computer. LOL. Thanks again.

Keyloggers ARE usually detected as a trojan/virus because of how they work...this is for your protection in the event one is unknowingly installed on your system. In some AV software you are able to adjust your settings so that the keylogger you knowingly install is ignored. The file you downloaded is not infected.

Most antivirus programs will detect keyloggers. To my knowledge they dont contain anything nasty. If its on MG's it should fine :)

    You are both welcome:)

@ Sudz_Guy..you are NOT a moron! LOL Knowledge is power as they say and if you don't ask or take the time to learn how will know if it's safe or not? Asking questions is a good thing!:)

As an added note: All the files that are uploaded for download here at MG are installed, tested and scanned before being made available to would-be down-loaders. If ever in doubt of something you download, just ask and we will double check the file to make sure all is ok.
