scanner doesn't work

Hi everyone and I so do hope that someone from here will have the resolution for my problem: I have a x4530 Lexmark All-In-One printer and the scan function is no longer working (about 2 months ago stopped and I'm sure I did something but of course don't remember what) and I've been searching online for "fixes" and tried all suggestions e.g., uninstall, reinstall, use a USB connection, don't use a USB connection, verify wireless network settings, use Photo Gallery, use Paint....blah blah blah and nothing has worked. I AM able to print wirelessly so I believe there is nothing wrong with my router...so what the heck can it be? Oh, and I've also tried to download (and don't know if it is installed) twain driver. I read that if it is "greyed" out that it has gone missing or is corrupt...again to no avail. I'm lost like a sick wilder beast going around in endless circles....can anyone help?????

Well, the answer is USB is usually the best. I am a bit stuck here except for a hardware problem with the printer itself, most likely the USB part. Under control panel, system, Device Manager is anything greyed out?

Wish you had an old printer you could plug into USB which might verify a printer problem.
