scanning files

hey guys
does anyone know what this means . example
i download real player . i scan it with norton 2006 which is updated and get a result which says 0 threats etc but it also says 0 files scanned ... now does this mean it didn scan the file so therefor there is no threats (if so is there a solution) or is it normal

Where did you download it from? I'm not a fan of Norton but if it said clean then I wouldn't worry about it.

 

i got it from www.real.com/realplayer and got the basic version but its not just this file that this has happened, another example is when i download zipped files or installers for prgs such as mediamonkey and it gives scan results as
total files scanned .....................................................0

virus,spyware and other risks
detected...................................................................0
removed....................................................................0
remaining...................................................................0

dont get me wrong im happy that its finding no threats but i was just wondering is it finding them because :
A) there os none OR
B)it hasnt searched properly

ps. im not really sure if this tread should be here or software let me know if i shuld move it..

If you got it from their homepage it's more than likely fine, however if from now on you want to be sure, you can use the Online Malware Scan to scan individual files.
