I would appreciate advice on how to set up a schedule to block internet access during parts of the day. Our family has a network consisting of 3 PCs (Windows XP Pro)- 2 of which are directly connected to a Netgear RP114 router port, and the other through a wireless access point. The Netgear manual is like reading a foreign language to me.
Our teenage daughter is staying up all hours talking with friends and playing online games. Is there a way to set up a schedule to block internet activity?
Thanks for any help you can give me. I know just enough about computers to be dangerous, but would like to attempt this.

Went to Netgear's site and they list a RP614 router.
The info on that router indicates that restrictions can be placed on access timewise.
You should have a "Access Restriction" or "Access" page in your router setup utility if your router is similar. If it does, you should have Day & Time listings for blocking access. Hope that helps.

LBMEST its an older router and not listed via the main page of products, need to go to support for that one http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/rp114.asp Netgear have a habbit of a weird search function that doesnt list all products.

It does however have similar options as LMBEST mentioned above.......

Page 48 of the manual and you can download it here if you dont have a paper copy http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/rp114.asp click Reference Guide for Version 3.26 ( Acrobat PDF file )

    Just a thought - agof78.
If they realize the restriction is a "time thing", they may be clever enough to change the PC's clock. You should probably make sure they don't have Admin privilege or they can easily defeat your plan.:)

********ignore -- my router has an internal clock -- ignore :( **************

actually on your thinking prometheos, ageof78.. make sure if you have not already, password or change your password to the router, in case your child has the one used now.
