Score! New internet connection!

Well my dad found out the other day that my mom uses Road runner for her work, and so we called them up and they said we could share the line. So I'm on a wireless connection with road runner. and man, its fast. My old 256k dsl connection would never compare to this.

Its so amazingly fast. and I guess roadrunner just upgraded their speed so thats even cooler.

 

Wow that rules, I've just upgraded from 300k to 750k, seems like nothing but it's quite a difference!
But over 3mb connection, wow!

 

BUH. Me wants. But both ways. 3MBit symetrical line... ahhhhh

 

I am soooooooooooooooo jealous.
I only had 56k to begin with. Then, with moving to country, way way out, I only connect at 28.8 now. We do live on a state highway, though, so am hoping they dig in some dsl or cable soon.

I could imagine how it could be a good thing to get it symetrical for you seeing as how you have a server of your own and stuff, but i dont do much uploading so i would hardly notice. i've been looking into it though.

if i get any more than this, i'll just tell you guys. im testing different optimizers right now. so far cybertweak as done the job well.

i'm gonna so break the 5mbit barrier, ooooh yeah.

 

eh record after some tweaking is 4074. Which isn't bad with wireless. Its supposed to be at 5mbit though as advertised. If anyone wants to try to beat that? lol.

It is pretty damn close to 5 mbit once you consider packet overhead.

heh, typical how my download sucks, should be 5mbit, upload is pretty decent since the max on that is 1024kbps

the most ive reached was nearly 1mb a sec download rate

 

Do you have road runner? if so, how did you set your upload speed higher. I need mine a little higher.

I do believe that, depending on the modem you have you can flash a different firmware version and they'll just work fine, only faster, my "old one" worked that way, got great results, now got a combined phone/internet cablemodem and the results aren't that great
