Screen just goes black when i try to play a game.

    Ok so this is irratating. A few weeks ago I got the urge to play some TRON 2.0. I pop the CD in and hit play. screen goes black,.. NOTHING! I hit the windows key and back out of it. well I accepted it. today I decided that I wanted to play some more NFSU2. pop in cd, hit play,.. NOTHING! black screen. WTF is going on? Im running a Nvidia Gforce 5600 video card and both games worked perfect before? wy not now? display setting? ive messed with them and it dosnt change it. HELP!

    ok i enabled write combining and NFSU2 works, I dont get it. Im still not sure why TRON wont....

    what about in your display properties ... is the 3D settings set to performance and/or application controlled?
