Screen or Graphics messed up Help :(

I was playing Unreal Tounament for about 2 hours on my latop, restared it and fuzzy messed up lines showed up from bootup, i cant see anything. Just a load of fuzzy line and square. I think the problem is with the graphics card or something, someone help please.

 

Does it boot into Safe Mode? Although you will only have 16 colours if it does it will let you know whether it is the graphics card or the drivers for it that are causing the problem.

 

No, basically from start up as soon as i power the machine it comes of messed up. Im quite sure theres a problem with my graphics card.

Could someone tell me when a graphics card is damaged is anything shown on screen, cos i see a load of lines and funny colours does this mean there is hope?

 

if its like that as soon as you turn the computer on, then i'm guessing the card is fubar'd.

 

But since it is at least showing something, maybe a sign that it could be a solder job or something?

 

Far more likely to be a fried component. Try taking the graphics card out and then put it back again making sure it is correctly seated in its slot. Sometimes if you're really lucky this works. Otherwise a new graphics card would seem to be on the cards.

Ah! Replacing graphics cards on a laptop can be nigh on impossible. It really depends on what sort of laptop you have. Sorry about that.
