My monitor supports 2450 X 1020 and that's what I have most of the time.

Lately, if monitor goes to standby, upon coming out of it, the resolution will change to 420 X 240 ( or similar), and I have to close all browsers and go to desktop >Screen Res and change it back.

I went to Dev Mgr and clicked update driver, but said I had the latest one, which turned out to be incorrect after I went to the Intel site and they said I needed a new driver.

I installed it, but still have the same problem - intermittently.

    Intel hd graphics 3000.

    LG 29UM65 Black 29"

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Hi Paul

What PC make and model do you have or if custom build what motherboard make and model?

In DevMgr do you have any Yellow ! marks and if so by what device?
Do you have multiple monitors in your setup or just the one listed?
How is your monitor connected is it via HDMI or VGA?

What you could try is to install a monitor driver (you shouldnt need to in general) and in Device Manager open properties for your monitor then click for driver update but choose, Browse my computer and then let me Pick and see if a LG monitor driver is listed and install that, besides that you could delete the monitor driver and then reboot and that will allow the driver to re-install, just in case its corrupt.

    Hi David,

    This is a self-built.
    MOBO- Asus P8z77-v.

I did go to dev mgr and no yellow marks and when I clicked update driver, it said I had the latest one.

I have gotten incorrect info from dev mgr In the past (with regard to drivers) and went to Intel site and hey said updated driver available and I downloaded that and for the past couple of days the problem seems to have disappeared.

It wasn't a big problem, as I could just go to Screen Res and reset, but it was a pain in the ............;)

Thanks for your reply, and if the problem crops up again, I'll let you know.

    Monitor connected with display port.

    Hi Paul

Glad all ok now, I agree on DevMgr at times, and really I tend to follow what the mobo maker has listed as my hardware and go from there.
