Screenshots From Majorgeeks Download Page Just Downlaod Not "open" As Intended

Hi there,

I've a Problem since... month!

If i click any Screenshot of any Download Page on majorgeeks.com, the preview Image start to "download" and not to "open a preview" as it is intended -> i hope it is!!

I've now tested this with:

1. Chrome -> Default Browser with many Extensions
2. Brave -> Test Browser without any extensions
   
3. Microsoft Edge (Chromium) -> Test Browser without any extensions
   
4. Firefox -> Test Browser without any extensions
   
5. Internet Explorer

Every Browser is latest Version!

The "Preview" of Screenshots works only on "Internet Explorer" for me!
Now it's very interesting... Why?!

 

So the save as dialogue pops up and says your going to save a jpeg file? Only on MG's site?
First thing that pops into mind is a file / mime type issue.

Seems so -> Never noticed that bug on other Sites for now.
But i dont really "focused" this with priority!

 

Error still present on EVERY Browser except the outdate Internet Explorer

And YES it is ONLY on majorgeeksas i figured out majorgeeks uses lightbox for screenshots.
Every other Site that uses Lightbox JS or Lightbox V2 works fine!

Seems majorgeeks uses an outdate, modified or corrupted version of lightbox because Lightbox JS and ALSO Lightbox V2 work without any problems except on majorgeeks!

maybe it's time to Update the old stuff?

 

I've had this occasionally happen to me on Firefox, and since using Windows 10, on Edge. I've not found any reproducible pattern as to when this occurs. Refreshing the page corrects the issue in most cases.

 

Very interesting i'm not the only one it seems ^^
For me it looks like just no one is interested to report the bug...

The problem does not occur on Downloads, it JUST occur on Screenshots (as already mentioned the lightbox Version MG uses)
Downloads work as intended, Screenshot-Preview -> not.

My "Workaround" for this is now to use the extension "Undisposition" on Chrome AND Brave (just for MG) to prevent that Bug!

And again...
Very interesting the Picture Preview from the "Official" Site(s) of Lightbox JS AND Lightbox V2 work like a charm ^^
Also other Screenshot or Picture Preview plugins work as intended like Media Preview (Media Wiki), Magnific Popup or anything else, soo...?!
Now What?! ^^

I will not test any further because MG is the ONLY site that have this Problem.
I also don't care anymore about it or if it will get fixed or not because it was just a Bugreport and i found my personal "Workaround" != Fixed!

 

No issues here. Using FF or edge. Got to be on user end, a setting or add-on maybe? Just guessing at cause. I have also used 3 other pc's, all no issues.

 

I have the same problem. When I open the browser for the 1st time it will open the picture. If i go to another file to download it will open the download menu.

 

This will be caused by your ad blocker. It's an EasyList filter: /www/delivery/*
To fix it in uBlock Origin, open the uBlock dashboard and paste this into My filters:

Click Apply changes.

Well, that did not work for me. But I did find a work-around that works for me.
1) Click on the word SCREENSHOT above the image to the left. One image will show.
2) Click the mouse back button to go back or the back arrow.
3) Now click on the images again and the images will show.
I don't know if this will work for everyone, but it does work for me.
