I jipped on a purchase once. I paid for the item with a USPS money order. That means mail fraud was involved. I contacted the frauds dept of the police
in the city that the person lived. I didn't get my money back, but I have the
pleasure of knowing the person now has a felony record.

When we were shopping for our first home computer. My husband found an add that a company out of California sold computers at low costs. We did order one, but I got a funny feeling about this company so I had my nephew read the add and advise us. He suggested we cancel and look at major brand name computers. We put the purchase on a credit card which was the payment of choice requested by the salesman. Well, when we tried to cancel our order, that is when all the problems started. We ended up calling the Department of Better Business. The complaints logged against this company were phenomenal. Once they knew Better Business were involved, they cancelled our order and we received credit back on our card.

Yup. My claim just sorta fell through the cracks. Mine was not the only claim.
The person was found guilty on 6 counts.

Thats why I can't for the life of me see why people make major purchases online, is it that hard to get your fat Ho Ho eating ass away from the computer for 5 minutes and go to a real store?

Oh sure, yeah, I'm going to give my credit card information online to some outfit I never heard of, for a $3000 purchase

If I buy anything that costs more than $50, it's going to be in a store where I can take my merchandise with me the second it's paid for.

Even if you deal with a legitimate company online that won't try and scam you, just try returning something that got banged up by the dumbass courier, do you even know what a pain in the ass that can be? I mean dear God, most companies have it set up so that you have to call them 12 times, speak to everyone that works there at least twice, and get put on hold and deal with umpteen different recordings before you MIGHT POSSIBLY get someone to help you.

Then you have to screw around with getting it back to them and making sure they acknowledged that they received it.
