screwy link

ok. this is a weird one. starting out HERE:

i try "open in new tab" for entries 2, 3 and 5.

3 and 5 open no problem, but 2 directs to HERE: http://my.netzero.net/start/rhinoboot.do?action=unknown

which reads [to me] "Your Internet access is now limited to only the NetZero web site because your NetZero software is outdated or not working. To update your software and return to unrestricted access, click the button below...."

thing is, going back to google, i can go pretty much anywhere ELSE online w/out incurring this warning again. so i figure that particular page has some funky java or flash or sumpin which is confusing my NZ.

otoh, clicking ON the link directly or on "open" without the "other tab" part -- or, heck, even on "open in new window" -- GOES TO THE RIGHT PAGE!!!!

what thu....?! was NOT expecting that!

likewise cut/pasting the link (http://www.saysyou.net/got_a_good_one/ ) into a tab/window on my own works just fine.

in other words, i seem to have ONE SPECIFIC LINK tripping up "open in other tab"...and ONLY "open in other tab" specifically....

ANY theories??

more importantly, can anyone else reproduce my results???? (of course, you won't be on NZ, but....)

 

I tried all links using the wheel button on my mouse to open new tab and it worked for all of them. Worked in both IE and FF. I think Netzero mandates IE use? So you might clarify that if someone else wants to try.

I have no theory as to why you are having the problem. Sorry.

 

not that i know of. when u connect, it opens up IE as a starting point, but that is easy to ignore/close/skip past. i dunno if u cud set it to begin with another browser.

i use both IE and FF once online. occasionally opera.

back to the error page, i have on occasion gotten a similar msg when my monthly hours are up or the like. so "restricted to NZ pages only" is not odd in and of itself. of course, in such cases, it applies to ALL pages and ALL links, not some lone wolf like this one.
