I'm not sure if the below is your problem or not but is may be worth a look. It is always a good idea to post exact and complete word for word error messages. So I'm assuming the error is occurring while trying to browse.

From and IE window, click Tools, Internet Options, Security tab, select the Internet globe. Then click the Custom Level button. Now either click the Reset button to reset defaults or try setting it to Medium level.

OK Here is the message word for word

An error has occurred in the script on this page
    Line 491
    Char31
    Error syntax error
    Code O

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page ?
and the the option Yes or No

    Thanx

What is the "something" you're trying to do when you're getting the error? How often are you getting the error? If you boot in safe mode, do you get the error there? Are you having any other problems with the computer currently?

Go to Internet Options>Advanced & uncheck the circled item; see if that doesn't clear it up.

"How to Disable Active Content in Internet Explorer

    (3.) Internet Explorer 5.0, 5.01, 5.5, 6:
    a. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, click the Advanced tab, and then click to clear the JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires restart) check box under Java VM.
    b. Click OK.
If the problem is caused by a Java program that the Web page contains and the problem still occurs when the Java JIT Compiler is disabled, the Internet Explorer status bar should display a message that provides additional information about the problem. If the message indicates that a particular class is not found, the appropriate class file may not exist on the server that contains the Web page, or the server may be too busy."
    Good Luck...:)

I in just the past few days have started getting so many script errors I cant count. My computer is still functioning, I have ran my virus and maleware scans, fount a few lil t hings and took care of them. It happened after I was trying to sink an ipod to itunes and my computer wouldnt recognize it. I uninstalled itunes and I have even done a system restore and reinstalled IE8. It seems everytime I open a new page it happens.

I checked the internet tools and the appropriate options are checked or unchecked and I have researched everywhere to no avail. Someone help Im about to throw my computer out a window!

rencourt, you don't drag up a 6 year old thread and add your problem to it.
    Go here: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21
and click the new thread button near the top left. Paste you post above into its own thread. Post what version of windows you are running.
Do the script errors appear only when you are browsing? About how long has this been going on? Have you tried a restore point before the error occurred? If so, what was the outcome?

I did repost as its own thread after I realized the age of the post. When I initially started to post, that thread came up above as a relative thread and I chose it, not knowing the age.
