Scripting and Norton

I uninstalled my 2003 Norton Pro to use Antivir exclusively. It seems when I did all my proxy settings for internet and outlook were erased, thus no connectivity. Yet when I reinstall Norton, voila I am hooked up; but with one slight problem; it seems I have lost my ability to control Active X scripts.

For example, I cannot get completely into Norton because I am hanging on their introductory page when I hit next. The same is true in trying to listen to internet radio even though I am on line and many other items that require Active X. PCpitstop tells me my scripts are not enabled but in fact they are on my custom security settings.

I run windows xp home, 20 gig hardrive, 256 ram, full gig processor.

I will be glad to provide more diagnostics with DR Hardware.

HMMMMMM! any help would be appreciated
