Note: I don't own a Seagate hard drive and I never use the software that comes on the external hard drives. (I own 7 Western digital external hard drives). So I can only point you to Seagate information but have no way of verifying the info.

Since the hard drive crashed, you have a different system and different username. So you'd have to restore the data to the desktop of the fresh Win 10 install and then copy this data where it belongs.

You might want to move away from a backup system and learn how to image your computer. An image copies EVERYTHING: programs, OS with all the updates installed and data. A backup only saves data.

If the hard drive crashes or even dies and needs to be replaced, the image can be installed on the hard drive and the computer will look the same as it did the day the image was made. I image the four Win 7 computers in the house about every 4 - 6 weeks. I think I've had to restore an image to every computer at least once when either an update or a program I installed broke something. It took less time to restore the image than it would have to find and uninstall what was causing the problem.
