    Hello all,
I've been visited this website before and it has helped me remove spyware and the irritating "about:blank" website.
It has happend to me 2 times and I've performed everything in the
"READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And.."
    sticky.

But now, that stuff doesn't work for me? I've ran it several times just incase I did something wrong.

    Please help.
Below is the log from hijack. See attachement.

You must run ALL steps in the READ ME FIRST. Make sure you follow the steps in the current READ ME FIRST and not an old one. Make sure you get all updates. Also HJT logs should only be posted when they are requested.

    Also do the below.

    Download this file: SpSeHjfix109

Unzip it to your desktop or to a folder.

    Boot into Safe Mode

Start SpSeHjfix, click on " Desinfecton starten" (the other button means close) then it will reboot and finish the cleaning.

    Run SpSeHjfix one more time.

    Reboot in Normal mode.

Now post the log from SpSeHjfix, the log should be on your desktop or the same folder as SpSeHjfix.

And if you have now completed ALL the steps in the READ ME FIRST, post a new HJT log.

    Chas,
I think it is fixed. I think the problem was that I was using the old "read me first...." and not the new one.

    thanks again,
    Joseph

    Did you run SpSeHjfix109 ?

You really should and you should also post a new HJT log after completing the steps. This se.dll problem can be difficult to remove sometimes.

You forgot the HJT log. Looks like the tool found some additional problems.

The tool found infected registry keys and delete them:

    deleted: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main, HomeOldSP: about:blank
    deleted: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search, SearchAssistant: about:blank
    deleted: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main, HomeOldSP: about:blank
    deleted: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search, SearchAssistant: about:blank

However you HJT log shows that you are still infected. Haven't you noticed that you are still having problems with se.dll?

You should run the tool one more time then continue with the below:

If you are using WinXP or WinMe, make sure you have system restore disabled (per the tutorial).
For all OS types, make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll/space.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll/space.html
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://hsremove.com/done.htm
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {541C5DB5-938C-964A-0558-3737747E32E3} - C:\WINNT\system32\apigi32.dll (file missing)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mfcod.exe] C:\WINNT\system32\mfcod.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [atlqk32.exe] C:\WINNT\atlqk32.exe
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)
    O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Uninstall BitDefender Online Scanner v8 - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)
    O16 - DPF: {10000000-1000-0000-1000-000000000000} - file://C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\nnlwhcts.exe
    O16 - DPF: {11311111-1111-1111-1111-111111111157} - file://C:\Recycled\Q330995.exe

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete:

    C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll
    C:\WINNT\system32\mfcod.exe
    C:\WINNT\atlqk32.exe
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\nnlwhcts.exe

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST). Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.

Now we need to Reset Web Settings:
    1) If you have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, goto step 2. If not, skip to step 3.
    2) Now right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK. Then skip step 3.
    3) If you do not have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, click Start, Control Panel (for some systems it may be Start, Settings, Control Panel), Internet Options, Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.

Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log. And tell us how things are working.

You will always need IE at one point or another. In fact, you cannot get your Windows Updates without it. Also many sites will only work with IE (for example some of the online scanners we use - but there are many others).
