Search & Button lost functionality

I had a serious malware problem and the malware forum helped me correct that issue. I still have one issue remaining, my search feature does not work and some buttons on web pages do not work. If I click on "Start" then "Search", the search window pops up with a blank window. If I am on a regular web page and want to us the Cntl "F" function to search for a word, the option does not open.Whenever I open a web page, if there are buttons, most of the buttons do not work. The hyper-links work but most of the buttons do not, I have not been able to figure out why some do and some don't. Even some features here, on this site (Major Geeks) are not functional. For instance, the formatting features (listed above) in this window that I am typing in right now are not available to me, but the "Submit New Thread" button works.I have a Toshiba laptop, Satellite A105, Windows XP Home Edition (pre-loaded). I do have a copy of XP Professional.

 

what browser are you using (with probelms)?

 

Re-register Jscript.dll and Vbscript.dll, see if that solves anything.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then click OK.
3. Click OK.
4. Click Start, and then click Run.
5. In the Open box, type regsvr32 vbscript.dll, and then click OK.
6. Click OK.

I wanted you to know that re-registering those scripts solved my problem. All is well in the world again, thank you for your help.
